The upper part of the above elliptical figure is called the “oo-hook” and it expresses the following sounds:
The 3 “oo-hook” sounds:
1: the sound of ŭ as in cut

luck, utmost, production, reduction, none, numb.
2: the sound of ꝏ as in took
Hook, took, pull, cook, foot, shook, sugar.
3: the sound of ōō as in who
